Our original wedding plan to have a carnival on a working farm in the Overberg including fair rides, games and a host of other carnival type activities. As you know we had to cancel our wedding and ended up having a surprise wedding so a lot changed (and of course we wouldn’t change how it all worked out for the world). Something that i had wanted from the beginning was a rainbow cake, like this….
To me it epitomises fun, laughter, happy days and what day could be happier than your wedding day? After chatting to Jacqui at Charly’s Bakery who managed to squeeze in a gorgeous cake for us (i only went to see her three weeks before our wedding), we compromised on making the very labour-intensive rainbow cake and this was the end result, beautiful isn’t it?

The white heart tier (hope that is the right word?) cake… it’s beautiful! so simple too. I imagine that one day (long distant future) it’s something I would like at my wedding!
